50’s Plus will be having an “Outside In Picnic” on Monday, July 19th at 6:00pm at the church.

Please bring your favorite picnic-type dish to pass.

New Adult Summer Sunday School Classes

We are  pleased to offer 2 new adult Sunday School classes during the summer. Classes will run through July 25th. Sunday School is at 9:30am.

1) A study on the book of James will meet in the Chalet.

2) Have a New Kid by Friday, a DVD series by Dr. Kevin Leman, will meet in the Kids Chapel.

Coffee and snacks will be available in the kitchen, prior to class time.

We have Sunday School classes for all ages and nursery for the little ones, so bring the whole family out and be blessed at Sunday School!

National Day of Prayer 2010

The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 6^th. 

The sanctuary will be open from 9:30am–3:30pm for anyone who would like to come out to pray.

We encourage everyone to fast for all or part of the day.

At 7:00pm we will be having Worship and a Prayer Walk around the church and grounds; with a  chance to pray for specific ministries and needs.

Childcare will not be provided, as we are encouraging children to be part of the prayer time.

50’s Plus “Pot-Blessing”

Hey all you 50’s Plus-ers!

Mark your calendars for a “Pot-Blessing” at CHA on Tuesday, May 18th at 6:00pm.

The theme for the evening is “Fender Skirts and other Antiquities”

For your dish to pass, please make an old-fashioned recipe (a family favorite or something your mother or grandmother used to make).

Valentine’s Day Dinner

You are cordially invited to join us for a fun-filled evening of fellowship, laughter, and maybe even a little romance!

We will be holding our festivities at Ron & Judy’s Restaurant on Friday, February 12th, with social hour beginning at 6:00pm, and dinner being served at 7:00.

Cost for each couple is $35, due no later that February 7th.

50’s Plus Christmas Celebration

50’s Plus Christmas Celebration – Girl Singers of the Hit Parade Christmas Show

Monday, December 7^th, we’ll be leaving from the church at 12:15pm.

Cost is $20 per person for ticket and transportation.

Following the show, we’ll have an early dinner at “Old Country Buffet” or “Perkins” (meal cost not included in ticket price).

New Wednesday Evening Bible Study

Be sure to join us for the Adult Class on Wednesday Evenings in October for a new DVD series from Erwin McManus, best selling author of Uprising and the Barbarian Way.  The class will be a combination of a DVD session and group discussion.

One of the following topics will be discussed each night:

advance  Go Unless You Get a No  – Much of our religious language has been focused on the “don’ts” rather than the “do’s”. In the same way we act as if the primary word from God is “stop” when it is actually “go”. Opportunities are lost because many times when we think we are waiting on God, He is waiting on us.

impact  Leave a Mark  – Impact - a forcible contact between two or more things. This is an accurate description of how men and women are used by God to shape the course of human history. Whenever God is doing a new thing, He does it through people. But, we can often feel alone. We may feel alone around others, but we’re never alone when it comes to God.

choices  Choose To Live  – The most spiritual activity you will engage in today is making choices. Our choices either move us toward God and all the fulfillment that comes in Him or steer us away from Him to a life of shame and fear.

dreams  Seize Your Divine Moments  – We all have dreams. Why do some people realize their dreams and advance forward while others  watch timidly fro a distance and hope for a break? There is a direct relationship between passion and initiative. But what about making sure that the things we do, and the dreams we dream, are truly God’s will? The reality is – when we are passionate about God, we can trust our passions.

Our Wednesday Evening Activities begin at 7:00pm; the Adult Class meets in the Sanctuary.
