3/27/11 – Moving beyond regrets
Is there something in your past that you wish you could take back? Have you ever said to yourself, how could I have been so foolish? If you have ever felt this way, then welcome to the human race. Anyone who has lived for very long has regrets. None of us are perfect and, as humans, we make mistakes. We say stupid things, we make bad choices, and in the process, we often hurt ourselves and others.
We don’t have to walk around the rest of our lives feeling guilty for past mistakes. God has something much better for you and I. Jesus died on the cross 2000+ years ago for our sins. He desires for us to experience forgiveness and peace in our lives. He desires to give freedom from guilt and shame. He desires for us to move onward and upward and move beyond our regrets.

3/20/11 – Redeeming the time
One of the most fascinating and also most frustrating of all subjects, is the four letter word: t-i-m-e. Each of us have the same amount of time given to us each and every day. It does not matter who we are or what position in life we hold, we all have been given the exact amount of time each day to spend. How we use this precious commodity can make us or break us. It can be a blessing or a curse. However it is spent though, once it is gone it is gone forever! Are we investing our time wisely? Is this precious commodity, given to us by God, being used in a way that honors Him?

03/06/11 – Overcoming the pain of humiliation and despair
Have you ever been betrayed by someone you loved and trusted? Have you been hurt by family members or close friends? Have you been a victim of false accusations by another? Have you been punished for a crime you did not commit? Are there pains in your past you cannot forget? Are they hindering you from experiencing happiness and a truly successful life? I think all of us could answer yes to one or more of these questions. How do we rise above these hurts and pains? The life of Joseph is one that shows how one man rose above the difficulties and hurts in his life and experienced God’s goodness through it all. Joseph did not allow bitterness and pain to get the best of him. He did not live in the pain of the past, rather, he chose to get over it and get on with it. He rose above the valley of despair the enemy had set before him and proved himself victorious by the empowerment and grace given to him by God.

2/20/11 – In the Hands of the Potter
There are millions of believers who God can do nothing with; they won’t soften up enough to be used and shaped into the vessels He intends them to be. They live their lives as much less than they are capable of. If they would only choose to submit to the heavenly potter; He knows our weaknesses and our strengths and shapes accordingly. God the potter knows us best and He desires for us to be useful, mold-able clay. It is our choice to do so. When we let go and let God, we will then fulfill our true purpose and will experience true fulfillment that only God can give. It is only then that we become the masterpiece God intends us to become.

1/30/11 – Beware of Drifting
I wonder how many people in the church are just drifting along in their spiritual journey? How many of us are being careless in our walk of faith? Hebrews 2:1 gives us specific warning to pay attention and do what we have heard so that we do not drift away from our faith in God. I wonder how many Christians over the years have, little by little, drifted in their way to the loss of their faith and walk with the Lord? Each of us needs to ask ourselves the question of whether or not there has ever been a time in our lives where we were more committed to living for Christ than we are right now. Was there a time where we were more surrendered to God than we are now? If we can answer yes to these questions, then we are in the process of drifting in our lives and we are in danger! We will never be able to embrace the change and work God has in store for our lives until we recognize our personal need to stay near to Him. There will never be a greater move of God in our lives if we are satisfied with the place we are now at; we must continue to pursue and seek after God daily. Drifting from God is our choice. It’s a choice that will destroy us if we let it. May we be on our guard and pay attention.
