11/21/10 – The giver of all good gifts
All of us, at times, take the gifts in our lives for granted. We often give all the credit to ourselves for the many blessings we have. We worked hard and have been diligent, we have played the game right! Truth be known, that’s a very mistaken and wrong attitude on our part. Each of us have what we have because of God’s goodness and grace. Everything we possess and every gift and talent is a gift from above. Yes, we may have worked hard and made the money to purchase the items we enjoy, but may we never forget that it is due to our Jehovah Jireh. God gives us life, breath and our health. He gives us the ability to work and He provides the jobs that we go to each day. May we be thankful people who realize and never forget that all the good things in our lives are a gift from God. Let us be people who choose to live with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving each and every day.

10/24/10 – The Choices We Make
Our lives are full of choices – where we will work, live, marry, spend our money, etc. Often times we have regrets and sorrows about the direction we chose, we wish at those moments that we had taken another route and that we had been wiser in our choosing. The choices we make in our lives, big or small, will impact us in one form or another. Each of us has the option of making good choices, which will lead to our success and happiness; or we can make poor choices and bad decisions, which will lead to our demise and sorrow. The question each of us must ask ourselves is “How does one make right choices – how can we know right from wrong?” The answer to that question is found in God’s word and through the empowerment of His Holy Spirit. The one who follows God’s word and prays for wisdom and seeks the Holy Spirit’s guidance will be given good sense and insight and direction so that right decisions can be made.

10/17/10 – When God seems to have disappeared
Have you ever felt alone and abandoned by God? Have you ever felt like God had shut the doors of heaven and no longer heard your prayers and no longer was blessing you? When we read of king David’s life, we see that he had times such as these. Don’t you think that if a man such as he went through times like that, all of us at one time or another will have to go through it too? This is probably one of the most disturbing of our trials or tests we must go through as believers. There are many reasons that God allows such periods of silence in our lives; we need to evaluate and consider what it may be that has caused this time in our lives. In those times, we must keep pressing on and trusting God’s perfect plan is at work. Many times when it seems nothing is happening and that God has disappeared, may we know that something is happening! In those times that you feel alone and deserted, know that you are not! Choose to be faithful and continue to trust and obey.
