9/19/10 – Who is the antichrist?
The movie industry seems to be obsessed with the end of the world. There has been a steady stream of films coming out of Hollywood all having to do with the theme and topic of end-time events. It is interesting that there is so much interest concerning the end of the worlt theme of Revelation. Sadly, it seems one can hear more about the end-times in a local movie theater than in your average church. Unfortunately though, the media and the secular world have distorted the truth and missed the point of end-time teachings. All of us, in the church and outside the church, need to hear and know the truth of what the Bible teaches regarding the events of the last days. One of the most striking revelations God’s word gives us about the end-times, it is the description of the person whom the Bible refers to as “the man of lawlessness”. Who is this person? What will he look like and act like? The Bible and history give to us a good answer to this question.

9/12/10 – Where did evil come from?
Did God create all things? If so, did He create evil? How could a loving God do such a thing? How can He allow bad things to occur in our world? Both men and angels have been given free will and because of that fact, good and evil exist in God’s creation. Satan was once an angel of the Almighty who chose to fall away from God and, over the course of history, has lead many astray to follow his rebellion. God could have prevented evil in this world, but it would have come at the expense of having no truly moral beings. It would have meant that you and I would be just robots who would have no choice but to follow and obey God. No one would be bad, but it also would mean that no one could truly be good either. If we are not free to rebel against God, neither are we free to love and serve Him. God did not create evil, but He did create a world with a potential for evil.

9/5/10 – What are you laboring for?
What are we laboring for in this physical life? Is it simply to pay the bills and provide for ourselves and our families? Are we only laboring to build up earthly treasures for ourselves? Or do you see your labors put forth today as an investment in the eternal? Do you desire to build a legacy that will live on long after you are gone? Are your efforts geared toward something of greater worth than anything physical? God’s word again and again encourages us to fix our eyes and hearts on things that will endure forever. Our lives are to be more than just striving to survive. They are to be more than just being concerned over the here and now. As people of faith, our actions and efforts will affect the proceeding generations, who will follow in our footsteps. There are many things beckoning and calling out for our attention, things that will consume our time and energy. We must regularly evaluate and prioritize our labors. We must keep the long-term goal always before us. Lives lived in that way will impact and change our world for all eternity.
