50’s Plus Harvest Festival Potluck
50’s Plus will meet on Monday, October 12, at 6:00 p.m. at 700 Stearns for our annual Harvest Festival potluck.
Please bring a “fall favorite” dish to share.
Following the meal and devotions, we will be finalizing plans for the coming year.

9/13/09 – Let Go And Be Still
Every follower of Christ needs to regularly make an effort to set aside times for silence and solitude. It is a spiritual discipline that can be so beneficial yet so many neglect. Life is so busy and hectic. Stress and fatigue are a norm. In the midst of this, may we reflect upon the words and instruction of Psalm 46:10. “Be still and know that I am God” Jesus set for us an example of this practice in his life. He made a regular effort to go off by himself to be still and spend time with God. He made time to listen and respond to what God wished to do in and through him.Are we missing out on what God wishes to do in and through us? A busy and hurried life causes us to miss the God moments around us. May we choose to slow down and recognize the importance of time spent in God’s presence.

9/6/09 – Consider The Heavens
When reading the 8th Psalm, you can’t help but picture in your mind young David sitting on a hillside outside of Bethlehem gazing up at the beauty and vastness of the night sky. David looked up at all this and could not get it out of his head how majestic it all was! In the midst of this experience, he recognized the smallness of man and the greatness of God! What an awesome thought to know that God the creator wishes to have a relationship with us! To think that God created us to be a mirror of him and a vessel for him! The question we must ask ourselves is, Do we have that awe and wonder in our lives as David did? This revelation and recognition will affect our every decision and action. It will cause us to think and live beyond ourselves.
